About Turkishpolitix
Today, Turkey is a rapidly developing country, an important emergent market, and a regional power with the second largest army in the NATO. On 3 October 2005 Turkey has started accession negotiations with the European Union. However, information and knowledge on Turkey and Turkish affairs is scarcely accessible to the professionals and general public concerned with Turkey. Hence, policy debates on Turkey are not well informed.
Turkishpolitix is a project developed by academics and journalists working on Turkish and EU affairs. It emerged from the simple idea of sharing information and knowledge on Turkish politics and policies. Our mission is to:
- to collect, document and improve access to knowledge and information on Turkish affairs and politics.
- to provide links to policy debates concerning Turkey and make information policy positions available.
- to network professionals and organisations concerned with Turkish affairs.
Can Akdeniz, Founder and Manager of Turkishpolitix
Can Akdeniz (Istanbul, 1981) has extensive public affairs and communications experience. He holds Master of Arts degree from University of Bonn. In addition he is doing PG Diploma in EU Law at King’s College London and PhD at Bonn University. Since May 2005, he has been Programme Co-ordinator at European Association of Development Research Institutes (EADI) and been involved as freelancer in several projects. He manages Turkishpolitix.com on personal capacity.
